About the Role
The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician is integral to the day-to-day pest management in our cannabis cultivation facility. This role involves hands-on tasks related to effective pest management within our automated greenhouse environment. The successful candidate will be able to assist in monitoring plant health, learn to identify pest threats, pest biology, beneficial organisms, and environmentally sustainable pest control methods.

Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily scouting to monitor pest and disease activity throughout the facility.
- Assist with the application of pesticides, beneficial insects, or other IPM techniques (using fog spray applicator) as directed.
- Maintain accurate logs of pest sightings, treatments, and environmental data.
- Support the implementation of weekly/monthly IPM schedules.
- Communicate findings clearly to the Cultivation Manager and recommend appropriate next steps.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of IPM storage areas and tools.
- Learn basic pest/disease identification and prevention practices.
- Follow SOPs, checklists, and visual guides.
- Follow instructions so all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations and safety protocols.
- Participate in research and evaluation of new products or techniques under direction.
Education & Experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or experience in agriculture, horticulture, or plant sciences preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in cannabis cultivation or greenhouse pest control highly preferred.
- Ability to learn scouting and data collection techniques.
- Ability to learn and understand pest life cycles, beneficial organisms, and organic treatment options.
- Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment in varying temperatures.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Willingness to learn and follow compliance standards.
- Comfortable working independently and with a team.
- Good recordkeeping and organizational skills.
- Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 200+ pounds regularly
- Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often in a greenhouse environment.
- Repetitive Motion: Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching to handle plants and equipment.
- Manual Dexterity: Proficient hand-eye coordination for tasks such as cloning, trellising, and transplanting
- Work Environment: Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity levels typical of greenhouse environments.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Chemical Exposure: Handling and spraying pesticides.
- Respiratory Irritants: Cannabis dust, fumes from sprays. Must wear respirator while applying sprays.
- Lighting Exposure: Eye strain from grow lights, protective eyewear supplied
